Area attractions include Lark Toys in Kellogg, The National Eagle Center in Wabasha, Carley State Park and Whitewater State Park, the Weaver Dunes and numerous DNR areas in the Whitewater, Zumbro and Mississippi River Valleys.  Most are within fifteen minutes to an half-hour from Plainview and offer year-round activities and interpretive centers.

In town, Plainview’s park system has ball fields, a swimming pool, basketball and tennis courts, park shelters with restroom facilities, playgrounds and walking trails.  The Lions Club, Chamber of Commerce and City of Plainview host community celebrations that draw thousands of visitors to Plainview every year.
