The Minnesota Secretary of State provides online information on business fees, how to start a business, business filings online, UCC and Tax lien filing, and Central Notification System (CNS) forms.
Counseling, training, and technical assistance to entrepreneurs who wish to start, operate and/or expand their businesses. Free online training courses. Specific SBA information for Minnesota. Disaster planning and resources. And information on grants and loans.

Business Training resources
RCTC’s Small Business Development Center provides free, confidential consulting services for businesses in Southeastern Minnesota. The BWE also offers employee training and development classes to upgrade worker skills, Continuing Education classes to help works maintain their licensures, online training, and testing services.
SMIF assists communities in this region with economic development through financing, programs and grants. Financing programs include loans for businesses, licensed family child care facilities and local foods ventures.
SCORE – Southeast Minnesota Chapter / Rochester
SCORE provides free and confidential one-on-one business Mentoring customized for your business needs and personal objectives. The chapter also offers Local Workshops for a fee, for both start-up and in-business entrepreneurs.
U.S.SourceLink was created to help business and community leaders create dynamic, thriving communities by mapping assets, providing innovative practices and implementing tools and programs to foster entrepreneurship. This online database of information also comes with a technical assistance component.
